As far as I can remember I had a passion for holding a pencil and creating, seeing my imagination come to life on paper. I knew then that art was my ambition. As a young man I would watch my uncle tattoo, I was fascinated with how someone would trust a stranger to permanently leave artwork on their skin. I remember begging him to tattoo me so I understand what it was that kept people coming to him. Finally the day came that he gave in, it was that moment, that first tattoo, I knew I was hooked. The machines, the art, the meeting new people, I knew this is what I wanted to do for a living. That passion I had as a child is what would eventually lead me to choosing a career as a professional Tattoo artist.
However, after high school, I found myself raising a family and getting a 9 to 5 job so I could focus on family time. Being a tattoo artist you have to dedicate every hour of every day to the art. I loved the time with my family but the idea of tattooing was always on my mind. As my children grew older, and I had a little more time on my hands I thought to myself “it’s time”. Right down the street from me was a reputable studio called TATT2000. I took a chance and walked in, persuaded them to apprentice me, and since then have never looked back. I am still dear friends with the man that gave me many opportunities and always had my back, “Big Jeff” in Akron, Ohio. Now 20 + years later from watching my uncle, raising a family, to meeting Big Jeff, I am living the life and as the industry continues to evolve, I continue to to learn the latest tools and techniques in creating the perfect tattoo for you.
